Pinvent Trimmers

In a tire molding process, raw material in excess of the mold capacity is added to ensure that there are no voids in the resultant cast.  The tire mold segments have vent structures that allow evacuation of air and excess rubber but leave behind a surface of small rubber hairs which necessitate a trimming operation.  To meet this finishing operation need, Alcon manufactures an industry standard line of Pinvent Trimmers designed to accommodate high volume cutting in both automated and manual trimming operations.  Alcon’s trimming blades are made from M2 High Speed Steel, a grade of material that features excellent wear resistance and durability to reduce tooling changeouts.
