Precision Grinding

Many parts that Alcon manufactures require extensive grinding – an abrasive machining process employing a grinding wheel as the cutting tool to remove material.  Grinding is heavily integrated in our production process to accomplish rapid removal of material, provide a desired quality of surface finish, create precisely toleranced flat and parallel working surfaces, and achieve geometrically complex cutting-edge profiles.  Outfitted with several rotary surface, vertical spindle, cylindrical, and horizontal surface grinders, Alcon is well equipped to produce complex custom tooling that requires performance features only attainable through the most advanced precision grinding techniques.
